Artwork Description

When Light is Offered, reflects moments when protection becomes necessary, not to reject hope, but to survive what feels overwhelming. The black umbrella symbolises the instinct to shield oneself, even as colour possibility continue to exist beyond it.

Created with layered acrylic washes and restrained tones, the work explores emotional boundaries, resillience, and the quiet complexity of allowing light back in when the time feels right.

Artist Bio

Stefanie Bellerby is a Queensland based artist whose work explores grief, resilience, and healing through rain and sea. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, her pieces are created instinctively and with emotional honesty, often reflecting moments of loss, resistance, awe, and renewal.

Alongside her creative practice, Stefanie works in the wellbeing space, and her art is deeply informed by lived experience and the quiet ways creativity can hold us through difficult times. Each piece is created as a one of a kind work, intended to invite reflection, calm, and connection.
