How beautiful to watch the bright star taking a dip beneath the ocean horizon every evening. My mother would tell me the sun is going to sleep. I wondered what she dreams about when the moon takes the night shift.
'Heavenly Bodies' is a series of acrylic paintings on wood, adorned by gold flake details which illuminate when you walk by. Inviting viewers to look closer with gold details, the brush strokes and colour variations seen in closely will beckon a desire to find out more about her.
In response to a lack of diversity of Asian women in art, and the lack of Asian women artists who depict them, Luvieur invited Asian women of various cultural heritage in Australia to pose for her to photograph. The analogue film photos were used as reference for the paintings in the series.
