'Sienna' is inspired by Australia. My fondness of Australia’s unique and rich colours of red earth against piercing blue sky, decorated with khaki gum trees grew more every time I returned back from extended travel living in other parts of the world. Returning back to Perth from living in the London, UK, I saw a woman wearing khaki. The colour so perfectly felt like home.
Sienna, portrayed in this painting, has a skin tone inspired by red ochre, used in ceremonies and Australian Aboriginal peoples’ spiritual relation to the land. Sienna is fire and earth energy married together, as beautiful as watching embers fly into the night sky.
Original is sold, painted in acrylic and details of pencil on plywood. Fine art archival print is on Hahnemühle Hemp paper, numbered and signed by the artist at the front. Certificate of authenticity included.
