This original oil painting is titled “A Pair of Pears, part 1 of 1” a cheeky joke with my family ;) This is my first oil painting and whenever I would tell my husband and daughters that I was going downstairs to paint, they would ask me what I was painting, I would say “a pear”. They would say “a pair of what?” And laugh and laugh until I rolled my eyes and walked away.
I have painted in many mediums over the years, using watercolours, acrylics, even red wine and coffee! But I have finally delved into oils and feel like I have found my true calling.
I painted it using oil paint and after weeks of drying, I varnished it with a gloss varnish, giving it a gorgeous shine. I built a custom floating frame for this painting using Tasmanian Oak and the canvas sits happily in there. It has a wire across the back so it can be hung on a wall, or even looks gorgeous just sitting on a shelf.
It is 15cm x 15cm and is 5cm deep.
I hope my first oil painting finds a lovely home, it is the only one in the world and truly looks so sweet! 🍐
