My love of handbags started as a little girl, always dreaming of one day owning a designer bag. Justifying the purchase with an achievement, later in life the justification became bandaids for feelings. Emotional Spender is a series representative of my struggles with mental health and emotional spending. Finding silence from my thoughts and calmness in painting details, I enjoy pushing myself to try different patterns and textures. Completing each bag is as exciting as the purchase - I find that if I paint it, I wont buy it!
