Three Sisters Sunrise.
Do you ever have a feeling in your soul to get up early?
I have not taken any Landscape photos for a while now. I have been a bit disheartened being in isolation.
Some of you won't know that I Injured myself at work about 10 months ago.
I'm still recovering from an operation on my right forearm that I had a few weeks ago, held up by the Corona virus.
Recently I have been finding it hard to sleep as I roll over the pain awakens me. I'm still in a bandage.
- I peeled my eyes open and sneaked myself out of bed.
I dusted off my camera and cleaned up my lenses then I rolled my way up the Great Western Highway ascending the Blue Mountains in the dark.
I parked my car, beanie on and walked to Echo Point in Katoomba with my head torch. To my surprise,
I was the only one who was there, cheering that I got prime position.
I set up my tripod and waited patiently. I enjoyed the cool fresh air and tranquility.
The clouds were low and moody, as far as i could see with a slight gap in the horizon.
The sun peaked it's head out and lit up the clouds.
My prayers were answered!
The sky lit up like fire! so I focused my camera, checked my manual settings and closed the eyepiece so I couldn't see or let any light leakage inside my camera.
I checked my ISO and set it for the right light.
Click, wait, rotate then overlap - repeat until I have a series of 8 images I can work with later at home.
(My aim is to create a large high quality image to print)
I look around and now I have a crowd of tourists buzzing behind me.
I took a step back and let the mob do selfies etc...
I retreated to the upper platform and waited my turn to get a good position near the railing.
Construction is nearing completion on an upgrade to the viewing platform. I had to record the brand new bridge that was recently put into position.
The light dwindled away so I headed down to Wentworth Falls bakery for a french bread stick and a hot coffee.
What do you think? I hope you like what I came back with.
