Alba

Named after one of the last babies born at St Margaret’s Hospital in Sydney, Alba stands as a link between the site’s former life as a maternity ward and its present role as residential apartments. Set against an expansive sky, the building is both a tribute to urban renewal as well as to the lives and stories that began there.

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
