Beyond the Bend

The stillness of an early morning as the sun carves its path across the square. The curve of the road draws attention to the public buildings in the background, devoid of life yet filled with presence. This scene reflects my attraction to quiet empty spaces, where architecture and light intersect.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
