Artwork Description

Whitlam Square is the junction where Sydney's colourful Oxford Street starts its journey east from the city to Bondi. It also seems to be one of the windiest places in the city. Depending on which crossing you take you'll be in Surry Hills, Darlinghurst or Sydney City. I see the crossings as a metaphor for our choices in life ... including my own as I wonder what is beyond the crossing.

Please note: This painting is framed with a custom Tasmanian oak "floating" frame. The framed images are for demonstration only and the actual frame may vary from the images.

Artist Bio

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
