Beyond the Storm - Urban Landscape

After a summer storm has washed over the city, new light shines on the heritage lane that weaves between modern constructions. I live next to this lane with its restored buildings and am grateful for their preservation. The images of the past are reflected on the surface of the new, reminding us of who was here before us, and who was here beyond them.

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
