Cooling Towers

I regularly stand in this lane while waiting for my morning flat white from a corner coffee shop. It intrigued me why a relatively small building had such a large air-conditioning system. Until one day I realised that it was an optical illusion - the cooling towers actually belonged to a large shopping mall obscured behind the modest buildings along the lane. They just appear to be floating on the building in front.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
