As a child, I lived in a number of "modernist" houses - at the time they were simple, affordable housing constructed in post-war Australia. I fondly remember the big backyards, the big windows and the big fences. My memories of these family homes are perhaps a little idealised … and still influencing my painting today.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
