Artwork Description

This row of modest inner-city terrace houses serves as a poignant symbol of the social disparities that exist within our cities. Renovated homes of the affluent rub shoulders with the unrenovated workers cottages next door. Neighbours sharing walls, sharing the neighbourhood, but not necessarily sharing the same aspirations or values.

Finalist - Wollongong Art Prize 2025

This painting is framed with a Tasmanian oak float frame, hand made by the artist.

Artist Bio

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
