Artwork Description

Like similar disused buildings in other cites and towns, this one was once a cinema. With high visibility on the main street, and (according to the real estate sign) great development potential, its glory days as a picture theatre are just a memory.

Artist Bio

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
