Artwork Description

I still have strong memories as a child living in Hobart, Tasmania. Our house on the hill shimmered under a glowing sky from distant fires as the smoky weekend drew to a close. Two days later a third of the state had been wiped out by the devastating "Black Tuesday” bushfires. The house on the hill was one of the survivors. Please note: This picture is framed with a custom Blackwood floating frame.

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
