Artwork Description

A modernist mid-century house, designed to blend into its bushland environment, hovers over a valley - a quiet collision between the cool restraint of static architecture and the natural expressionism of the landscape. At the end of the day cockatoos call from across the valley, marking their territory and reminding us that the natural world, alive and constantly growing, will always be at odds with man’s static constructions, no matter how well conceived.

Artist Bio

I paint streets, landscapes, portraits and other things that capture me.

My artist journey began with an early passion for painting before following a career in television and film where I've created soundtracks for many of Australia's best known television shows and award winning productions. In recent years I've returned to my original love of painting.

I’m drawn to the often overlooked moments of emptiness or disquiet within urban environments and aim to evoke some response or humour through much of my work. I also like to explore at the imbalance, or sometimes tension, between the constructed and natural worlds.
