Artwork Description

I just love painting Orangutans! The frayed and breaking rope symbolises the precarious position that wild Orangutans are facing due to deforestation for palm oil plantations. Butterflies were used by Van Gogh as a symbol of hope ,and I kind of like that…..

Artist Bio

I am a semi-professional self taught artist living in Adelaide. I have been creating art for most of my life but have only begun selling art in the past 10 years or so. I am originally from the Isle of Man in the UK , which is where I developed my passion for wildlife and Nature art. After discovering the talents of such artists as Carl Brenders and Robert Bateman I began a life long obsession with rendering fur and texture.
The majority of my paintings take between 100 and 200 hours to complete and I have many photos on my linked instagram account showing the process. Feel free to follow, comment or ask questions as I’m always happy to answer......
