Having worked as an actor at Old Sydney, a theme park that no longer operates, it left a desire to parody. Here's a slightly absurd portrait of the Town Crier standing on the steps of Sydney Gaol, as it was recreated for the theme park. In the background is Sydney Cove and the brig Perseverance. The volume of the Town Crier's vocal skills is reflected in the startled face peering out from within the bars of the gaol behind him. It's unframed, acrylics on cardboard and painted in 1989. It's part of three amusing illustrations based on colonial capers, the other two also being available for sale separately here on Bluethumb. An additional photo shows a close up of the other two items along with "The Town Crier".
