ABOUT STEVE PARISH
Steve is a renowned photographer, naturalist, author, publisher, speaker, and artist from Australia who has devoted more than five decades of his life to his career. At the beginning of his career in the early '60s, Steve's innovative work in underwater nature photography was encouraged by staff at the Australian Museum, leading to his first book in 1974, 'Australia's Ocean of Life'.
Steve's stunning photographic images have been featured in hundreds of publications, talks, exhibitions, and public events across Australia and other parts of the world. His passion for the science of natural history and his artistic flair have made him one of the country's most respected nature photographers. In 2008, he was awarded the Order of Australia for publishing Australian natural history.
Steve has been motivated throughout his career to share his work and inspire others to care for nature in all its forms. Steve resides in the Blackall Range on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where he and his partner are building an autonomous family community. From his digital studio, he oversees Steve Parish—Nature Connect, an internet portal that provides publishing, library services, fine art decor, photographic and natural history education in Australia.
Steve says, "I have experienced a life-long passion for the natural history of Australia and have been further blessed by sharing its wonders through visual and written expressions in a multitude of forms for over five decades. My objectives have remained to inspire in others the joy afforded through nature connection and what that can mean for our spiritual, mental, and physical well-being."
ABOUT THE PRINT EDITIONS
All Steve Parish Fine Art Limited Edition Prints are limited to 50 copies of each image across all available sizes and finishes. Each print is digitally signed in the bottom right corner on the image and each print is accompanied by a signed Authenticity Certificate indicating the edition number. The certificate will be sent to you via email once you receive your print. All prints are produced on top-quality canvas and are available in various sizes. Only Limited Edition Giclée Fine Art Prints on canvas are offered on the Bluethumb Online Gallery, but you can find more Fine Art Prints in various sizes at www.gallery.steveparish-natureconnect.com.au.
WHAT IS A GICLEE PRINT?
A Giclée print can provide virtually perfect colour reproduction in a long-lasting format. It is as close to the real thing as you're likely to find. Giclée Printing refers to a printmaking method that involves using a digitised image output from a computer to a large format inkjet printer. The term "Giclée" is derived from the French for "spray".
PRINTS ON CANVAS
You can order just the PRINT ONLY, or you may have it framed through Bluethumb or by your own framer once your print has been delivered. Steve's Limited Edition Giclee Prints on canvas may be stretched over a stretcher bar and ready to hang but with no frame, or they may be stretched with a beautiful recessed floating frame in a colour of your choice. The canvas prints do not need to go under glass (only paper prints do) but if you like the look of a mat board around your print and framed under glass then that would certainly look fabulous.
PRINTS ON PAPER
Prints on paper do need to go under glass/perspex and framing is required before hanging your art. All of Steve's Limited Edition Prints on Paper are created on Canson Rag Photographique 310 GSM Paper.
The photographic images shown on this website show examples of Steve's Limited Edition Giclée Canvas Prints in-situ. The images show prints stretched and in a variety of frames but please note the price is for PRINT ONLY and does not include framing.
