Birds View 2 (framed)

One of the nice things about seascapes is the diversity of scenes that are available. This painting goes one step further than most, taking the perspective of a beach from a drone.

This painting is heavily textured, adding an important dimension to the image. It almost feels as though the rock surface has been added to the canvas. A really nice thing to paint!

I've framed this painting using solid Victorian Mountain Ash, which is a beautiful timber exhibiting cream-like textures in the grain. I loved working with it.

I'm a visual artist, based in Adelaide. I mainly work in acrylics, but I also do some watercolor pieces. I'm always looking for new subjects. You would mostly call my work impressionism and sometimes expressionist.

For me, making a piece of art is always an experiment, a journey. I rarely know what the final outcome will be. I look for ideas from the environment, photographs and simple life events. I start with an idea, and let the painting take me to a conclusion. This adds excitement and stimulation to my work.

As a self-taught artist, I learn every day. I try to improve on every piece that I create. I am passionate and dedicated, and I try to paint every day.
