Distant Lighthouse (frame included)

I love the way that waves cut into the beach sand to produce colourful swirls and eddies. I've attempted to capture this effect in this painting. The dramatic clouds and the lighthouse on the horizon are intended to draw your eye into the painting.

Framed with a solid hardwood frame, which has been stained using a white stain and then varnished using a satin finish.

All of my paintings are protected using a professional artist's varnish.

I'm a visual artist, based in Adelaide. I mainly work in acrylics, but I also do some watercolor pieces. I'm always looking for new subjects. You would mostly call my work impressionism and sometimes expressionist.

For me, making a piece of art is always an experiment, a journey. I rarely know what the final outcome will be. I look for ideas from the environment, photographs and simple life events. I start with an idea, and let the painting take me to a conclusion. This adds excitement and stimulation to my work.

As a self-taught artist, I learn every day. I try to improve on every piece that I create. I am passionate and dedicated, and I try to paint every day.
