Artwork Description

This is almost an iconic scene of the outback of Australia. Arid wide open plains, punctuated with mountains, and very few significant trees.

The reds and yellow ochre is contrasted by the light blue and clouded sky, making the painting an ideal feature, perhaps above a mantle. It is fairly large, at 1 metre wide by 50cm high.

The frame has been carefully matched to the painting. It is solid Victorian Ash, hand crafted and lightly varnished using a clear satin finish.

Artist Bio

I'm a visual artist, based in Adelaide. I mainly work in acrylics, but I also do some watercolor pieces. I'm always looking for new subjects. You would mostly call my work impressionism and sometimes expressionist.

For me, making a piece of art is always an experiment, a journey. I rarely know what the final outcome will be. I look for ideas from the environment, photographs and simple life events. I start with an idea, and let the painting take me to a conclusion. This adds excitement and stimulation to my work.

As a self-taught artist, I learn every day. I try to improve on every piece that I create. I am passionate and dedicated, and I try to paint every day.

Thank you for visiting my bio.
