Original Artwork's Description

I was up at dawn to capture the early winter sun on the tops of the mountains west of Katoomba for this work.

I paint in a realist to impressionist style, and have been most influenced by the Australian Heidelberg school, and in particular, by the work of Arthur Streeton.

Oil on panel. This painting is not framed.

Artist Bio

I live in Sydney in a harbor-side suburb which provides me with endless subject matter and inspiration. These days I traverse a number of genres‚ including landscape‚ wildlife and aviation art. I've been painting all my life‚ but with the advent of the internet‚ the majority of my clients reside in North America and Europe, numbering over two hundred collectors. My landscape art influences are primarily from the Californian School and the Australian Heidelberg School‚ and perhaps Arthur Streeton more than anyone else. I have won awards for landscape, wildlife and aviation categories. These days my representation is online only, with the closure of so many bricks-and-mortar galleries. I have also introduced a range of more contemporary works, although their style and subject matter clearly have origins in my traditional background.
