Ashes To Ashes is a realistic landscape depicting the catastrophic Australian Black Summer bushfires of 2019/20. It was a traumatising event that impacted my family directly. I felt compelled to paint a series of works with a narrative of warning, but the painting process also acted as a form of healing for me.
