Born Gippsland Yallourn Victoria
Family moved to North East Victoria when I was 3 years old.
Grew up and went to school in Wangaratta , as a boy went for walks with my father in and around the Warby Rangers.
As I got older I ventured out with my mates ,swimming in the ovens river and playing where Ned Kelly roamed.
I have very fond memories of Bright gateway to the great dividing range, near by Beechworth and the Gold fields we called our backyard.
Working my way though secondary school my best subjects were the arts ,not knowing it then I really enjoyed the subjects.
One of the teachers wanted me to keep going with art ,but this was not to be at this time.
I left School at year 11 and found a apprenticeship in Melbourne as a boilermaker welder ,as finding work in my home town was really hard.
and my Mother & Father was very strict about having employment.
Moving to Melbourne on my own was very exciting time in my life as I was only 17 years old ,have lots of good memories.
After 5 years went back to my hometown and lived with my Mum & Dad for a spell ,travelling to Melbourne one night I had a car accident were I broke my neck - they called this a hangman's break I was very lucky to survive.
After my recovery the specialist recommended I move to a warmer climate which I did to Gold Coast Queensland and have been here ever since.
I have very fond memories of seeing a surf beach for the first time ,driving around the bluff at Coolangatta I was amazed how blue the pacific ocean was and the white sands of the beachers.
So working as a delivery driver - driving up and down the Gold Coast seeing the beacher's and the hinterland and meeting Darcy Doyle as I had a delivery to make at his home at the time , seeing his paintings and the memories of my childhood and school years this was my inspiration to take up painting.
Over the years I have done both medium - starting with oils and trying water colour now I'm painting with Oils as it gives a more rich colour and a little more time to work with a subject.
Currently working full time, but aiming to have my own Exhibition in the future one day, but for now devote more time painting and my impression of landscapes & Seascapes paintings here with Bluethumb art.
