Granite Boulders

This painting alludes to my childhood memories of spending time in regional Australia, holidaying with my family on a property called Granite Heights. I have used a colour palette that depicts the bright undiluted summer sun, giving a clear crisp view a the landscape which is dotted with huge granite boulders; Imposing and mystical monoliths.

Former newspaper artist now working in fine art. Drawing and painting, and using mixed media, my current works are primarily abstract in nature. My drawings explore shapes texture and tone, and a responsive technique I have recently developed. My paintings reflect a wabi sabi sensibility in terms of aesthetics and approach and most recently I have been working with acrylic paint.
