Artwork Description

Between Stone and Sky was inspired by our many travels to the Granite Belt in Southern Queensland, where it actually gets a little bit cold ( for us northern people anyway!) The landscape is so unusual, with granite boulders of all shapes and sizes strewn across the landscapes, often precariously balanced on top of each other. This place just feels like time has stopped somehow, and makes you want to linger longer.

Artist Bio

For years I overlooked the Australian landscape. Now I can't imagine painting anything else.

From my Brisbane studio, I create semi abstract landscapes and florals inspired by the quiet, wild beauty of Australia's regional and rural places. Road trips, native flora and fauna, granite boulders, loo,ing mountains, winding country roads and the subtle colours of the bush have become an endless source of inspiration for me.

There's something that happens when you leave the city behind. Time slows. Your heart settles. You begin to notice the intricate details - the texture of weatherd bark, the scent of earth and eucalyptus, the chorus of birds, the resilence of wildflowers growing where they choose. A differebt part of you awakens.

My artworks are an invitation to pause, reconnect and rediscover the unique beauty of the Australian landscape, not just as it looks, but how it feels. They are reminder of the moments when time slows, and we truly begin to see the beauty that has been there all along.
