Artwork Description

This is a soft, early-morning version of the stunning scenery along the Head Road, Carney's Creek,, Queensland - painted more from feeling than fact. The lilac sky and pale blossoms came from wanting to capture that particular quiet of a still afternoon in the country — the kind that makes you slow down without meaning to.

For years I overlooked the Australian landscape. Now I can't imagine painting anything else.

From my Brisbane home studio, I paint contemporary Australian landscapes and florals inspired by road trips, regional back roads, native flowers and the wild, quietly beautiful places that make you slow down.

My work is semi-abstract and expressive - I'm more interested in how a place feels and how it makes me feel rather than simply how it looks.

I love colour, texture and a little bit of personality, and I hope my paintings bring some of that feeling into the spaces they're collected for.
