Across the Valley

Just behind where I live is farming land with a creek that runs through the valley and out to the ocean. The locals have been fighting to stop the development of this beautiful area for quite some time now. Over the years I’ve taken many pictures from both sides of the valley with the intention of painting a series of paintings this being the first.
The painting has the feeling of not only being tranquil but the colours are pleasing to the eye as well

I have lived in Torquay all of my life, being surrounded by the beauty of the beaches the motivation to paint was never to far away.
I find inspiration not only from my local area but also from places that I have visited.
My work often reflects my travels, the laneways, houses, the history that are part of everyday life of the town and its people.
I particularly love the beaches, the rocks, cliff faces, the way that colour changes not only with the light, but from state to state and country to country.
