I’ve created an abstract pastel background with the use of pallet knives for texture and interest and have a spray of hydrangeas in front , they are also abstract , they are not the perfect hydrangeas as I thought it would suit the style of painting better to have them loose to leave the imagination to create them

I have lived in Torquay all of my life, being surrounded by the beauty of the beaches the motivation to paint was never to far away.
I find inspiration not only from my local area but also from places that I have visited.
My work often reflects my travels, the laneways, houses, the history that are part of everyday life of the town and its people.
I particularly love the beaches, the rocks, cliff faces, the way that colour changes not only with the light, but from state to state and country to country.
