Artwork Description

River Days was inspired by our daily walk whilst on a holiday at the Victorian boarder. The meandering tracks wound there way around the river giving us spectacular views as we walked along, occasionally we would hear the nearby call of a kookaburra.
It was truly beautiful, not a sole insight just the bush, birds and the vies.
I’ve tried to capture the Australian bush Colours, the beautiful blue sky, and it’s stunning reflection on the water.
Using a more relaxed style to paint most of the painting in Acrylics and using my favourite pop of oil’s to add a bit more detail.

I have lived in Torquay all of my life, being surrounded by the beauty of the beaches the motivation to paint was never to far away.
I find inspiration not only from my local area but also from places that I have visited.
My work often reflects my travels, the laneways, houses, the history that are part of everyday life of the town and its people.
I particularly love the beaches, the rocks, cliff faces, the way that colour changes not only with the light, but from state to state and country to country.
