River Walks

The inspiration for this painting came from a photo that I took whilst on holiday in Echuca .
The fish weren’t biting so we headed off for a walk, winding our way along the river bank taking in the tranquility of the bush around us. The typical Australian bush colours have been used in this painting along with the ochres in the riverbank with the fallen tree branches in the foreground.

I have lived in Torquay all of my life, being surrounded by the beauty of the beaches the motivation to paint was never to far away.
I find inspiration not only from my local area but also from places that I have visited.
My work often reflects my travels, the laneways, houses, the history that are part of everyday life of the town and its people.
I particularly love the beaches, the rocks, cliff faces, the way that colour changes not only with the light, but from state to state and country to country.
