Artwork Description

The spectacular beaches here on the surf coast are amongst the best in Australia.
Most mornings I love to walk the path that meanders it way around the beaches here in Torquay, it’s amazing to watch the ocean change its colours as the clouds move across the sky casting shadows not only across the water but the sand as well.
In this particular painting I’ve captured a bright sunny summers day, I was standing on top of the cliff looking across to the point at the other end of the beach, in the foreground is the very typical coastal shrubs that grow along our beaches, below the gentle waves are rolling in along the sand . With the use of turquoise, shades of blue, whites, and green this painting is typical of a summers day and would be somewhere we would love to be.

I have lived in Torquay all of my life, being surrounded by the beauty of the beaches the motivation to paint was never to far away.
I find inspiration not only from my local area but also from places that I have visited.
My work often reflects my travels, the laneways, houses, the history that are part of everyday life of the town and its people.
I particularly love the beaches, the rocks, cliff faces, the way that colour changes not only with the light, but from state to state and country to country.
