Artwork Description

I paint birds and flowers usually in order to really SEE them. I can look at something and appreciate it but the act of painting requires a more detailed gaze and I then understand more about the subject, the way the petals unfurl, the colours and patterns on a birds feathers.

‘Photography and painting are meditative practices, which enable me to truly ‘see’ what’s in front of me.’
Sue was awarded the Licenciateship honour (LAPS) from the Australian Photographic Society for exhibiting at national and international level. She won a gold medal in Austria in 2013 for her entry in ‘Children of the World’ and her photographs have also been shown in America and the Middle East.
