I am a self taught artist who has always loved drawing as a child and excelled at art in high school. I spent 15 years as an adult running a small decorative art business selling my products to retail stores in South Australia. My brother encouraged me to try painting 'real' paintings which I did and submitted three paintings in the Port Adelaide art show many years ago and sold all three. I have been painting and selling in local art shows when time permitted ever since. Having recently become semi retired, I am now able to concentrate on my art work and am loving getting out into nature with my camera for inspiration and exploring all our amazing conservation parks here in SA. I love our Australian fauna and flora (in particular, birds) and am enjoying my newfound hobby in learning more about them. I usually paint in acrylics but have been trying my hand at watercolour recently, I love the delicacy of watercolour.
I invite you to follow me in my new and exciting journey of exploration as I try to portray the beauty and wonder of nature that uplifts and surrounds me and hope I can in some small way create that love of nature in others.
I have been awarded 2nd prize in the Blackwood Rotary Art Show 2023 for my painting 'A Rascally Raven' and a Hangers Award for "The Bird and The Bee" at the Walkerville Art Show 2023. Most recently I have received a Highly Commended award for my painting 'Yellow Footed Antechinus' at the Goolwa Art Show 2026
