Riverside Carnevale

I love reflections on water in both reality and in paintings. I have previously enjoyed painting reflections & wanted to capture the energy & lighting that exudes from a Carnival. Having just finished painting Strictly Carnevale, as another play on words and in continuation with the theme, I entitled this work Riverside Carnevale.

Sue’s primary practice is acrylic and mixed media paintings, but she also enjoys charcoal drawing, along with oil and soft pastel, and watercolour painting. Her other interests lie in mixed media sculptures, wood being the primary medium with the addition of found objects - her small contribution to reducing landfill.

As a self-taught artist who sees drawings and paintings in everything she looks at, Sue dreams about art becoming her full-time career. This has become even more important to Sue having had to face her mortality while hospitalised in 2020 due to a life-threatening medical incident, resulting in her withdrawing from her MA(VisArts).
