Mr Organic

I wanted to create a portrait of a subject at home in his environment, and portray light and extreme shade as common for NSW during those bright spring/summer days. The hat on the subject provides contrast and an understanding that the subject is outdoors in the Australian environment. Desaturated colours on the subject's clothing act as a foil for the bright colours of the plants, providing balance.

I grew up in Tasmania and it will always be dear to my heart. I held an ambition to study fine art and creative industries from an early age. The pull to create has never left me. I am constantly trying out new approaches. In recent years I completed formal study while continuing to produce artworks including prints, painting and drawing on paper and canvas.
I have also produced art for community projects; designing and producing artworks for local fund raising events and exhibited locally. I gravitate toward producing work with strong contrast and colour. It is my privilege to create art and my life is so much richer for it.
