Artwork Description

This artwork embodies the essence of enlightenment, peace, and introspection. The central candle, with its gentle yet unwavering flame, symbolizes inner wisdom, resilience, and the journey toward self-discovery. The dripping wax reflects the passage of time and the transient nature of existence, while the warm glow radiates a sense of calm and spiritual awakening.

In the background, a meditative figure, inspired by Buddha, emerges softly from the darkness, representing the guiding presence of wisdom and mindfulness. The bokeh lights add a dreamlike quality, evoking a sacred atmosphere where material and spiritual realms merge. The presence of diyas further enhances the theme of illumination—both physical and metaphorical.

Influence:
This painting draws deep inspiration from Buddha’s teachings, emphasizing tranquility, self-reflection, and the pursuit of enlightenment. The use of light against darkness mirrors the Buddhist philosophy of dispelling ignorance with wisdom. The overall composition encourages the viewer to pause, breathe, and embrace the present moment, much like the practice of meditation itself.

Artist Bio

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I began drawing and painting during my school years, drawn to realistic human expressions, quiet moments, and elements of nature. Although my professional path led me into software engineering, art remained a constant — a space I returned to for balance and reflection.

In recent years, particularly after my mother’s passing, painting has taken on deeper meaning. What was once a lifelong passion became a dedicated practice — a way to slow down, be present, and find calm.

Today, my work is created with the intention of offering stillness and emotional presence. Each painting is an invitation to pause, reflect, and live quietly with the artwork over time.

I’m an Australian-based artist working primarily in acrylics, creating original, one-of-a-kind pieces.
