I have always been artistic and dabbled in many forms of art. At the moment I am focusing on acrylic painting and my subject matter is usually beach related. However I still enjoy painting other things that I enjoy or challenge me. I have been a finalist in several art awards and sold pieces, displayed and sold artwork through a local wineries and restaurants and have done commission work for family, friends and new collectors. Because I like to paint local scenery my paintings have been popular with people that can relate to the scene and I love that.
I studied art, textiles and photography in school and did one year at Edith Cowen University studying a BA in Visual Arts majoring in textiles minoring in photography. I have studied Chinese Mandarin and traveled, also living in Taiwan for one year.
For 14 years I ran a dance school in Dunsborough and Busselton Western Australia. Dance was a big part of my life as well as designing and manufacturing costumes. When retiring from dance I made a living as a dressmaker and sold some paintings.
Just recently I have decided to try pursuing a career as an artist. Thankfully many have appreciated my style, as I become known and have more opportunities to get my work seen I am working hard to keep up with demand. Hopefully I can continue to engage with people through my art as it is so rewarding.
I am a West Aussie but love the Australian landscape and my husband recently spent 6 months in Tasmania, I really enjoyed painting the beautiful landscape on the other side of the country so different to the West.
If you like my style, which is realism with a dash of impressionism please follow my progress.
