Compelled to depict the landscape and horizons of my home, I am inspired by this ancient landscape - from its broad horizons to the gorges and gulleys of the Blue Mountains National Park.
I like to experiment, get messy and challenge myself with different subjects and materials. I am always looking for ways to capture light and shade, textures and atmosphere from my home studio or while drawing out in the bush.
This small painting is from an exhibition "SIT LOOK LISTEN' held at Baremar Gallery in 2021, painted in the studio after spending 12 months weekly drawing at Jellybean Pools in Glenbrook National Park during covid lockdowns.
