If you have ever put a plate of seed out for the wild birds and seen these delightful birds hop in with smiles on their faces you'll know what inspired this artwork. I wanted to play with texture and light here while still retaining a resemblance to the bird. Of note is that triangular beak- its a typical seed eating bird and different to Australia parrots with curved beaks, indeed if you ever need to know what to offer a injured bird if a vet is not immediately available looking at the bills is invaluable. having said that I have never met a small bird that does not eat Pronutro a breakfast honey cereal produced in South Africa and the basis of all rescued animal foods there. I have however met many birds including our own that refuse any pellet food offered. Thus offering a variety of fresh food is best as well which is what this bird was eating too.
