Galah reflection was painted at the time because it made me realise how precious water is worldwide. No water means no life. Having left a "green" Cape Town in Africa for a drought stricken Canberra life where water was scarce a few years early- it was a shock to hear of Cape Towns water restrictions causing human loss a few years later. Insufficient water affects humans and local wildlife, where as the birds and marsupials suffered here- it was the elephants and larger animals that suffered in Africa. Thus water is gold worldwide and I am super glad that this little Galah had enough to drink on this day.
