After observing and photographing the local Koalas in a Canberra nature reserve I just had to paint one. They gorgeous creatures that can get into the most amazing positions considering they sleep most of their lives and Mom is really protective of her baby hiding the baby behind her and amongst the eucalyptus leaves. Although Koalas once roamed the country side in Canberra- they are mostly confined to nature reserves now and being a animal that can eat the poisonous eucalyptus leaves with very little water it is only when they need to move tree to tree that they return to the ground where they walk along with their babies acting as haversacks. This artwork is framed in a natural floating frame and can be viewed in the link given.
