This artwork was done to show the changing seasons and also to show the Flame colour of the Flame robins contrasting against the pale pink spring blossoms. Robins are seen mostly in winter and there are different types of red ones- the pink, rose, flame, scarlet and red-capped, it can be difficult to decide which is which sometimes in different light conditions. The females are a beautiful golden brown and are small darting birds that fly away quickly. I have added two photographs from our wildlife bird photography archives to show where the inspiration for this painting came from.
