Artwork Description

Acrylic on linen, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

In this painting I continue with the pink theme. It is an expressionistic artwork with much underpainting and line work, mostly unseen. I like the idea that layers of paint can reveal small amounts of what's underneath...an idea that I've worked with over many years...what is seen, what is revealed. I've also used many of my favourite symbols that reconnect me with the ancient world, but are still commonly employed today...circles (rock, earth, cosmos), dots (animal footprints, markings, rain), the moon as a crescent, lines acting as a connection, or representing flowing water. This painting holds a lot of meaning and complexity, in the same way a garden does. Hence the title "Garden of busy distractions". There's a lot to look at and enjoy.
This artwork is a larger piece and would suit a bigger room or space.
