Artwork Description

Our Australian Forests are full of life, their dense foliage and colour compete for your attention; so many luxurious shapes and shades. Whilst Susanne has painted the Australian Bush many times, this time she is concentrating on the dense rainforest up north; channeling her memories from when she used to live in Cairns.
In this piece she starts laying down a collection of her collage paper to give an immediate feel of depth; this encourages her to place trees, undergrowth, bushes, vines and all other wondrous rainforest flora into the piece. The aim is to create complexity and mystery.
Acrylic paint and mixed media have been used on a cradled board to create Symphony in Green. It is sealed with a coat of satin varnish to protect the artwork.

This original painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Susanne is a Gold Coast-based artist whose work transcends the ordinary, inviting viewers into a world where emotions and stories take precedence. By skillfully manipulating shapes and colors, she moves beyond mere representation, creating compositions that are both evocative and thought-provoking.

Her approach is deeply intentional, using stylized forms to distort the familiar and reveal a deeper essence. Each brushstroke is a deliberate choice, balancing abstraction with recognition to encourage interpretation and engagement. Rather than simply depicting reality, she seeks to elevate it, offering a fresh perspective on the everyday.

Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences, Susanne seamlessly blends tradition with a touch of the avant-garde. Every canvas becomes an experiment—an exploration of perception, form, and feeling. Through her work, she challenges conventional ways of seeing, embracing the freedom that comes with artistic expression.

Rooted between the ocean and hinterland of Queensland’s Gold Coast, her surroundings provide a rich source of inspiration. This connection to nature and place subtly informs her palette and compositions, adding depth to her visual storytelling.

Ultimately, Susanne’s art is a celebration of stylization and its transformative power. By bridging the tangible and the intangible, she encourages contemplation, sparks conversation, and reminds us that beauty lies in perception—waiting to be discovered in every brushstroke.
