Susie McGrath is an artist working from Yellowbox Studio, a garden setting in rural central Victoria. Sharing a connection to natural surroundings and sense of home, she uses primarily oil and watercolour mediums to produce works with a distinctive retrospective style. Formal studies in Drawing, Art and Design at St. Martins College in London and Oil painting tutelage in technique with Studio Baxter have moulded her current art practice. Her inspiration is drawn from the interplay between visual awareness, unconscious and conscious choice in both composition and expression and most importantly sensory perception. Stemming from a mixture of memory, place and experimentation with materials, she finds immersion in the art process an ongoing source of growth and a unique observation of present state of being.
