I draw inspiration for my female studies from memories of my childhood in Beijing, and the women of the Dynasties.
Beginning with acrylic on canvas in 2017, Covid allowed me to learn and refine painting in oil. This has now become my favourite method.
I'm using both canvas and board and creating both small and large works.
When I paint, I don’t plan exactly. I paint more from a feeling. I choose a colour and a figure and just let my hand work up the costume and the adornments follow.
