Artwork Description

Infinite Entanglement

Triptych — No. 6 Woven Collection

Acrylic / mixed media on canvas

77cm high x 309cm wide x 3.5cm depth (overall, with spacing)

I was created to explore the beautiful mess of connection.

Not the perfect kind. The real kind.
The kind that stretches, overlaps, loosens, tightens and somehow still finds its way back together again.

My woven forms move across three canvases in an infinity-like flow — expanding beyond a single moment, a single relationship, or even a single version of self. I remind you that connection is rarely linear. It loops, returns, collides and continues evolving.

Each of my nine sculptural knots was created as a symbolic anchor — representing harmony, longevity and the unseen ties that exist between ourselves, our families, communities, nature and the wider universe. Alone, each form holds its own presence. Together, they become something dynamic.

I was intentionally created as a triptych because some things need space to breathe. The gaps between my panels are not empty — they hold tension, change and possibility. They represent the unseen spaces between people, experiences and moments in time where meaning quietly exists.

My maker works intuitively, allowing layered textile and paint to respond to one another throughout the process. Because of this, no part of me could ever be replicated exactly the same way twice.

My folds, textures, shadows and movement shift throughout the day as light moves across my surface. Fair warning though — if you bring me home, you may need to put up a small “please don’t touch the artwork” sign. Apparently I’m very difficult to walk past without a curious little hand reaching out.

Room settings are a guide, please check measurements to be sure of the size.

Artist Bio

Suzanne Carter is a contemporary Australian mixed media artist based in Tomakin on the NSW South Coast.

Her practice explores connection as an evolving experience, expressed through multiple visual languages that move between sculptural textile form and expressive abstraction. Working intuitively, she builds each piece through a process of response and refinement, allowing compositions to develop their own rhythm, movement and energy.

Suzanne’s current collections — including Botanicals, Woven, Deep Reflections, Exuberance and Koi — explore different expressions of connection, from nature-inspired forms to quiet introspection and bold, energetic movement. Her work often sits between painting and object, particularly within her textile-based pieces, where hand-constructed elements introduce depth, structure and tactile presence.

An award-winning artist, Suzanne has received Champion and First Prize at the Moruya Agricultural Show and multiple awards including the Royal Canberra Show 2026. Most recently, she was recognised with the Service Art Award at the South Coast Private Hospital Wollongong Art Exhibition, acknowledging artistic achievement and creativity of service personnel.

Her work is increasingly collected for its contemporary presence, emotional depth and ability to transform a space, with a growing audience drawn to both her sculptural textile works and expressive abstract paintings
