ARTWORK STORY
This painting represents My great grandmother’s Country where she travelled from Wantjabella to Indulkana before settling down in Ernabella where she went to school and church, every morning she would go to this big waterhole on the side of Ernabella near a creek where spring water is always running with other kids and they would line up and dive in to the water and then jump out and run around until they got dried.
As my grandmother got older she had her own family and great grandkids so she moved back to Indulkana this is where my mum lived with her and they painted together at the Indulkana Arts Centre.
My great grandmother would go out hunting and gathering traditional foods to feed her family and teaching them how to survive off the land.
Dots represent the earth.
